Alice & Addie Collection

Hi, welcome to the Alice & Addie collection, inspired by two beautiful souls. Alice Jacoby (my husband’s grandmother) and ”Addie” Adeline Beach (my grandmother).

Alice was a mother to five children, a wife of 55 years and loved to fish. She was not only a caring mom and wife, she was a smart business woman. Contrary to the “norm” of those times, she and her husband, Rector, were true business partners in their farming and hog operations. However, she was also a wonderful cook. Living in the country, miles from town, she prepared three meals a day. She was known for her Jello salads, that she served religiously both at lunch and dinner. Her family could also count on her for a delicious homemade baked good or snack every day! Alice instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of a growth mindset, keeping a strong faith, and of course the love of reeling in a big ole’ fish.

Addie was a mother to seven successful children, a wife of 66 years, a quilter, canner, baker, a faithful Christian, and most dear to me, a loving Grannie. In her younger years, she was a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II, where she wired B24 Bomber airplanes. Then moving back to their West Texas home, after the war, she began raising her children and helping out on the farm. She lived through the great depression and multiple wars, but always remained faithful. Adeline was a thoughtful neighbor, a talented mother, a loving wife, a wonderful cook, and a terrific Grannie. She made over 300 quilts in her lifetime and more delicious recipes than one could count.

Though both of these inspiring women, have gone before us, nothing would mean more to me than their legacy, stories, and recipes to continue to live on and warm hearts all over the world.
